| Description: | Highland Rim Tractor Co. was started in 1972. John S. Storey and his son John E. Storey originally it opened as a lawnmower company. John E. Storey is better known by loved ones as Eddie. The company has had a steady growth since inception. The lawn and garden store was eventually turned into a tractor dealership in 1982 after Eddie gratefully returned from a 4-year tour in the Navy to his native Nashville. In 1979 Eddie met and married Linda Storey. She quickly became the sales manager, and John and Eddie ran the company. Her extensive background in sales was an asset to the company. Yanmar USA and Massey Ferguson were the tractor lines. As the dealership grew we became computerized and have a full line of parts, service, and New Tractor Sales. Mahindra Tractor Company USA was taken on at the dealership in 1998 after Yanmar USA pulled out of the American Market. Mahindra USA has been the Tractor Line the company has represented to date. Highland Rim Tractor has won the coveted dealer award from the factory in Tomball, TX in the years 2002 and 2003. This award is issued to dealers that exceed previous years business and has outstanding customer appreciation. Ed and Linda have a son that has now joined the company on a part time basis as he is attending Western KY University. He is studying Business and Agriculture to prepare himself to take over the company one day. John Jr. has a brother named Ken Holt that also owns part of the business. They will be taking charge in the future if they can make Linda and Eddie slow down! All of the employees have been with the company for a combined experience of 45 years. That includes Chuck Byrd, Service Manager, Jerry Newman Head Service technician, and Robert Elkins, parts and assist to Eddie. The office is staffed by Heather Sears who assists Linda in the sales department. This includes financing for the customers and arranging reorders and advertising. The company is computerized and parts are shipped directly to the customer when they need anything. Highland Rim Tractor truly is a family owned business for 39 years that serviced the greater middle TN area. Sales include implements, loaders and accessories. Service is our main concern for our customers. WE HAVE THE BEST CUSTOMERS IN THE WORLD. Repeat business year after year!
